Ines & the Natooke Team

Tianjin Alleycat
Last Saturday Natooke team went to Tianjin with a great team of 16 riders. Not everybody participated in the Alleycat but we all had a good time depsite the low temperture and the crazy traffic in Tianjin. Kirby from Natooke team was the fastest girl in the race and was happy to win a bike frame. Check our pictures in this gallery.

New Bikes

For the third year in a row, Fixed Gear Revolution 3 returns in Beijing on August 20th 2011! Highlights included the imperative Alleycat, Trick Contest and Bike Polo Competition. Warmup on day one: Scratch Race at the Olympic Forest with an outstanding turnout where fixed gear riders competed to lap each other. Here’s a video of the much talked about accident that happened that night; message to all – please wear a helmet when riding. We’re glad that it wasn’t a fatal accident and have recovered since.
Of course, no Fixed Gear Revolution will be complete without an after party. We saved the exciting JiSu PK competition for last and finished off with a glorious prize presentation ceremony at Speyside.

In April, we enjoyed Bike Boy sponsored by Lining, and Natooke. Hopefully everyone enjoyed one of the biggest alleycat races in Beijing and bike-themed party later that day. Honestly, we also very much enjoyed the feel and atmosphere of 798 art district and the thrill of riding through dangerous Beijing traffic like a cool bike messenger. Even though the event was quite official and less free spirited than Fixed Gear Revolution (which will be held in August!), it was extremely fun and satisfying.
Events started with an alleycat race, over 80 people from all kinds of countries came to attend the race including members of bike crews like: FTC, Anabiis, T19 and Subcrew. The race started one hour later than planned, but all the impassioned riders were well-organized and waited with great patience, eating fruits, drinking water, and chatting with other people while sharing opinions, and stories as friends of the same interest. People also took time to walk around, checking out each other’s fixed gear bikes (everyone brought really cool fixed gear bikes; what an impressive sight!) There were 6 stations including start/finish point (798 art district) in the alleycat race, As you can see in the video clip on Youku, everyone enjoyed the pure fun of riding bikes and felt a sense of accomplishment. Of course, some of us were rewarded for good record.

Chatting...

It was not only about riding fast to win the race, but also enjoying the atmosphere of Beijing city.

Men's 1st Prize goes to...
After we finished the race, the awarding ceremony, a few hours of rest and dinner, we finally got into the party time of Bike Boy. As there is no person who actually wants to end a party before 11′o clock, most of the riders stayed and more people showed up. As the theme of the after party was focused on bikes, the design of the hallway and stage gave an endearing and also magnificently cool atmosphere to everyone there. Some events were a little bit unfamiliar to some party people, but the essentials, music, drinks and good people, were not absent. On that night, performance of many different famous crews from other places(FTC, Anabiis, T19, Subcrew and Natooke!), music from 24Herbs (Hong Kong urban style rap band), MC Hot dog (famous Taiwan rapper) and electro by DJ Sam Lee!! I’m sure we had everything at that night.
