A second chance to become Lord of the Ring Road!
Hi everyone,
The Fixed Gear Revolution 3 is only two weeks away now! We hope you all are as excited as we are, we have even had a few work out sessions before the shop opens to work out around the bikes! That is commitment! Here is a link to our website where we’ve put up more information about the different competitions that will be running. We shall see you on the court!
Here at Natooke we have been working hard to put together some really cool videos for you. From bicycle drumming to trick testing, the shop has been a flurry of activity this week! Ines taught tricks two times this week and soon Duncan will be uploading some Natooke “How to” videos. So keep following us for the latest updates! Even though it is still hot and wet, we are so glad that you guys ain’t using it as an excuse!
P.S. On Aug 2nd, “inviting Heros” was broadcast with our very own Ines as the star! We have already got a lot of positive feedback from those of you who watched it, but if you havn’t yet, here is the link to it. Ines also performed for LiaoNing TV’s “Let The Happiness Fly” that was broadcast on Aug 6th. Unfortunately we don’t know the online link and havn’t been able to find it, so if anybody knows it, please let us know by emailing dupree@natooke.com, we’d be very grateful!
Events for this week:
Wed Aug 10th 6pm > Bike Polo @ Ditan Park
Anyone with any kind of bike can join. Meet us at Natooke at 5:45pm or directly at Ditan Park West gate (just off Andingmen Waidajie) to start playing polo at 6pm. We will play for 2 hours and then go for food close by. Come out and try the fun!
Thur Aug 11th 6am > Early Morning Ride to the mountains
We leave at 6 o’clock in the morning, ride to the mountains and get some fresh air. And will be back to Yonghegong Lama Tample around 9:30am.
Thur Aug 11th 7:30pm > Olympic Forest Ride
Meet 7:15pm at Natooke and at 7.30pm we head out to the Olympic forest to cycle some laps. This is the race course for the Fixed Gear Revolution 3 scratch race on Aug 18th.
Fri Aug 12th 11:30pm > Midnight Ride
11:30pm – 1am – Midnight Ride_ (Organized by STC)
Where: Meet at the South gate of Ditan Park
What: Ride through the sleeping city organized by STC – route to be decided on the night
Bring: Helmet / lights / drink / and of course a bike
Who: Anyone!
Sat Aug 13th 9am > Bike Trick Practice
Meet at Ditan Park West gate to practice tricks as well as track stands, backward circles and skidding. You can get ready for the Fixed Gear Revolution 3 main event on Aug 20th. So sorry we didn’t make it last week!
Sat Aug 13th 4:30pm > Bike Polo @ Worker’s Gymnasium
Anyone with any kind of bike can join. Meet us at Natooke at 4pm to start playing at 4:30pm or meet us directly anytime at the Worker’s Gymnasium East gate. If you’re still haven’t tried bike polo and you’re curious, come along and watch. We’ll also be going out for some dinner afterwards!
Sun Aug 14th 8pm > Lord of the RIng Road 2 Alleycat
The Mongolian rider Jacob is back in town! With all his creepy prizes! Meet up at 8pm at Natooke for a bike race around the 3rd ring road.
Other events:
- 1st Eurobike Fixed Gear Championships Sept 2nd to 4th: There will be the first time fixed gear championships around that time with sprints and trick jam. If you want fly to Germany and join.
- Sara fundraising fixed gear ride “878 Fixed for Swaziland” from Gleina to Eurobike: If you have not donated yet there is still time to do so: the link
We know that our Natooke bikes are all over Beijing, other Chinese cities as well as other countries. Please send a picture of you and your bike taken where you live.

If you didn’t show up to this week’s night ride, you missed out on some more nakedness! There were many more people this week, possibly enticed by last week’s promise of sweat and bare skin! The Fixed Gear Revolution will include a scratch race of three laps around the Olympic forest, so our night rides are a good preparation for anyone hoping to win!
