Chaobaihe BBQ

Hi everyone,
Last weekend we rode out to Chaobaihe for a barbecue with MESS and BJFG. It was great fun so I got some inspiration for the speech I gave on bikes and having fun at the TEDxBLCU event last Sunday. Also, Dupree is back! Team Natooke rode out to the airport with our mascot to surprise him. Check below for pictures!
This week we will practice both polo and racing to get fit for summer! Anyone can join of course so bring your friends if they want to try riding in the summer heat.
Wednesday Bike Polo
5.45 pm: Meet at Natooke to grab some mallots.
6.00-8.00 pm: Bike Polo at Ditan Park (west gate, just off Andingmen Waidajie). Just join us there if you’re late.
Thursday Road Race Practice
7.30-8.00 pm: Meet at Natooke and then we head out together to the Olympic forest and then do some laps to see who is in shape for Saturday!
Friday Bike Polo

Chaobaihe BBQ
Beijing fixie riders met up early on Saturday June 11th to head out North-East out of Beijing. We rode to 798 and then on the Jingmi road to the Chaobaihe river shore. The ride out there was really nice as it was not so warm yet. Xiao Shu and Nie Zheng and friends took care of setting up the grill and getting the fire going. Xiao Shu is an expert on chicken wing spicing – I loved those. Some rode back but others were too tired and took a taxi back. You better come out and ride more to get fitter!
Natooke Girls
I was so happy to see that for the ride to the Chaobaihe there were 6 girls coming out on fixed gear bikes. And the great thing was that 5 of them were on the Natooke team. and rode both ways. Guys, you can come and join the Natooke team!
Dupree back from Europe
Dupree was really surprised by the welcome party. I had to go home with the banana in a cab, but we brought a bike for Dupree so he could rid e back with the others. Even though they had to ride on the highway and get overtaken by trucks, Dupree had a huge smile on his face the whole way.
TEDxBLCU
At the TEDxBLCU event on June 12th there were a lot of interesting speekers covering a lot of cool topics. I talked about improving the world individually, with lots of bike examples of course. It was also great to see so many interested students and meet them in the chat room. But what made me even more happy was that I didn’t fall off the tiny stage with my trick bike
