Hi everybody,
This Saturday we will have a fixed gear ride/event. If you want to come to this fixed gear bike ride and have not yet signed up please contact us as soon as possible. We need to know how many people are coming so we can prepare enough water, grills and coal!

Fixie Ride to Chaobai River Bridge and Barbecue

It’s summer, this is a good season for cycling. Let us ride this Saturday, June 11 starting at 8:30am from the East Gate of Workers Stadium eastwards along the Jingmi Lu (Beijing Middle Road) towards Tongzhuo to the Chaobai River Bridge. There on the riverside we will prepare grills. But as there might be many participants everyone should prepare some things for the grill for example meat, fish, vegetables and other food.

If you have friends that are willing to drive that is also absolutely no problem, please have them also meet up at 8:30am at the Worker’s Stadium East gate in order for them to arrive before we cyclists arrive at the destination. To avoid losing people we should try to ride in a group. Be sure to wtake your mobile phone with the battery fully charged or bring other communications tools.

Riding Route:
From East Gate of Workers Stadium to Chaobai Bridge Tongzhou (and back)
Meeting Place: East Gate of Workers Stadium (8:30)
First stop: 798 Art District
Second stop: North Gao Bridge – along the Jingmi Lu (Beijing Middle Road)
Third stop: Weeping Willows Island (Beijing Middle Road along)
Fourth Station: Chaobai River Bridge

Please prepare the following items:
Meat or other “grillable” for your as well as other food for lunch, telephone, drinks, maps, lights, emergency tools, spare inner tube, tire, towels, maybe picnic blanket, maybe swim suit

Event organizers are preparing:
Phone, speakers, clean water, fruit, snacks, barbecue equipment
Particpation cost: (extra money will be returned to each person)
Less than 20 yuan (including, map production, clean water at the lunch, car petrol for accompaning car)

On June 12th the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) has arranged 15 speakers, guest performers, 20 workshops, 500 participants viewers … the theme “THiS IS THIS, THiS IS THAT / What does this mean? “, three speech topics University life, the world, the most creative thinking, cross-border collision interpretation! 18 minutes for every speech!

Ines at TEDxBLCU
Ines will be one of the speakers at the TEDxBLCU event on Sunday June 12th. The independently organized TED conference is very interesting but requires registration to participate. So if you want to come you need to see if you can still register. TEDxBLCU has a Chinese twitter account with a lot of details and comments (in Chinese).
